Puglia: A Unique Design for Tourism Promotion Offices

Designer: Emanuele Spano

Introduction

Puglia, a stunning region in Italy, has inspired a remarkable design by Emanuele Spano for tourism promotion offices. With a focus on simplicity, archaic elements, and contemporary technology, this design stands out from others in its field.

Spano's inspiration for this design comes from the organic forms found in Italian Limestone Pietra di Lecce and Zaha Hadid's projects. By combining these influences, Spano has created a design that is both rooted in tradition and forward-thinking.

Unique properties of the Puglia design include front and back office spaces that harmonize with the region's architecture. The theme of origins is brought to life through simplification and archaic elements. The design also incorporates contemporary technology, creating a meeting point between tradition and innovation.

The realization of this design involves the use of wood, synthetic resin, glass, aluminum, and Biocalce. LED technology and passive energy systems contribute to energy-saving measures, while lighting and natural ventilation enhance the overall experience.

With specifications of 80 square meters, the Puglia design offers ample space for promoting tourism in the region. The width, depth, and height of the design are 36.09100 ft, 22.96700 ft, and 13.12400 ft, respectively.

Operating as a tool for promoting the image of Puglia, this design serves as a proposal for a new tourist office. It aligns with the principles of sustainable development and emphasizes values such as hospitality and quality.

The Puglia design project began in April 2012 in Muro Leccese and was exhibited in the IAT International Competition by Agenzia Puglia Promozione.

Extensive research underlies the development of this design, with a focus on interior design. The objective was to create a new office for the Agenzia Puglia Promozione, utilizing 3D render methodology. The impact of this research extends to the promotion of knowledge and territorial components, fully enhancing the region's natural, scenic, and cultural excellence.

Overcoming challenges such as the limited space of 80 sq m, the Puglia design incorporates the historical and archaeological components of Puglia. Additionally, it opens up to international scenarios, making it a truly global design.

The Puglia design features a front/back office space that aims to be efficient and productive. It provides various services, including a front office, waiting room, and Wi-Fi, all designed to meet the needs of tourists and promote the regional territorial offer.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2013. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The Puglia design stands out for its integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.

In conclusion, Emanuele Spano's Puglia design for tourism promotion offices showcases the beauty and innovation of the region. With its unique blend of tradition and contemporary technology, this design serves as a gateway to Puglia's cultural heritage, natural areas, and cultural activities.
